These are not names of people or places or events or medical terminologies, these are the names of some types of triangles which also has so many other types.  A triangle had occupied scientists minds for centuries, and the signs where used for many things, naming but a few is god, magic, and can be a symbolic meaning

I loved triangles since I was little, and we used to draw them on the ground, put squares inside them and push a stone from one to the other, of course being inside a triangle meant that we had to be very careful, and that is why I have to be careful in what I will say here.  There are attributes in some of the triangles, no matter how much you stretch them, the total degree inside will always be 180. Many buildings have used the triangle as a base, like the pyramids, the louvre museum and many more, I once got a piece of jewelry in the shape of a triangle,  loved it.

If we dissect the people in this world to their different types, we can also put them inside a triangle, for example when we talk about money, many of us will fall on the base of the equilateral triangle and the richest will be on top. If you speak about education, then many of us will be on the base, and the top will be those that had completed their PHD’s, professorship and other higher ranked educational grades. If you speak about attitudes (you may want to choose one attitude here, so I will choose rudeness), the very rude people will be on the top of the triangle and those normal will form the base, and others will be in between ranging between slightly rude, to  ruder and rudest. Any example you want to express to others when it has large numbers and small numbers, you can express in with the help of our friend the equilateral.  As I mentioned earlier, you can stretch the equilateral as much as you want, but it will always be 180 degrees, so you can put inside it as many squares and lines, and use it for maybe explaining two contradicting formulas, flip it upside down to prove a point and so on.

lets return to our main discussion here.  Scientists have also used triangles to make it easier for us to understand the concepts that they are trying to explain.  Maslow for example has a famous equilateral triangle depicting the hierarchy of needs. The base of the triangle has the physiological needs (food, shelter, breathing, and other basic needs like going to the toilet). The second level concerns Safety, as it doesn’t matter if we have food and shelter and air if our lives are threatened, and many people suffer traumatically because they are not loved or belong to groups etc.  The forth level is self esteem:  once you got the other three levels sorted, got your education and your job, you want to prove to yourself and those that you love that you are respected by others, have all the confidence in the world and you are an achiever.

The final level is the self actualization, and here is the crux of the matter.  We want to be distinguished, we want to be creative, we want to be moral, we want to be problem solver, we want to be leaders, we want to be the best. One can also move up or down in this triangle depending on situations, for example, you can be an intellectual and an achiever in a place that got hit by war, so you will return to the base; oscillating between these levels can be by chance or by situation.you can see below the different explanations of the different levels of Maslow’s hierarchy:

Another triangle in relation to EDUCATION was used by Bloom

Bloom’s triangle is used to classify learning into various levels of complexity and specificity.

According to Bloom, most of the students fall on the base of pyramid,so they learn by heart, and repeat what they learnt. The second level is understanding the concept and can discuss it and explain it. The third level can take that concept and apply it, for example can the oil be used to moisturize the skin as well as for eating? can vitamin B makes hair grew etc.

The taxonomy puts on the tip the main learners’ value “creating” so someone learns about waves and discovers the radio, another looks at the circle and discovers the wheels, someone dreams of being on the moon, discovers a rocket. When someone tells you that its easy and its not rocket science, then believe me when I say that that person is on the tip of the triangle.

What we need to do is move as many students from the base of the triangle closer to the tip, or even start wit the tip and work our way downward.  When it comes to education the children are always on the tip, and then we set them in a classroom and subject them to boredom, what happens next is easily found out, they slowly move to the bottom of the triangle. Bloom Says that its best to flip the triangle and start educating children on that basis (the tip is the start)

We need to apply everything in life to the situation of wellbeing and creativity, and the best way to do this is just to think of a triangle.

Where do you fit in those two triangles?
